Easy kids dinner recipes for your children to make with you to satisfy hungry tummies.
So your toddler is growing up and is eating a variety of different foods? Well this is the time to get them involved in the preparation of their own food. These kids dinner recipes are a great way to get started.

2 hamburger buns per person. 2 potatoes per person for chips or a packet of oven chips.
Oil to deep fry
Sliced onions
Sliced tomatoes
Sliced pickles
Shredded lettuce
Pink Sauce (made by mixing 2 parts mayonnaise with 1 part tomato sauce)
Mix all the burger patties ingredients together. Shape into flat circles just big enough to fit the buns. Fry gently on both sides or bake in a hot oven.
Slice the potatoes into chips and deep fry. These take the longest to get them crispy, so do them first.
Oven fried chicken & wedgies
2 chicken pieces per person
Olive oil
Chicken seasoning
1 - 2 potatoes per person
Lay the chicken pieces out in an oven proof dish. Sprinkle with olive oil and chicken spice. Wash and cut potatoes into wedges lengthwise. Place on a cookie tray, sprinkle with oil and salt. Bake both for 1.5hrs at 180 deg Celsius.
Serve with a salad or steamed veggies.
Speedy Mexican Meal
1 onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1T oil
1/2 red pepper chopped
1/2 t chilli powder
1 1/2 t cumin
1 t oregano
1/2 to 1 t salt
1 can baked beans
300g finely sliced chicken
1 large packet corn chips
Cheese, grated
Lettuce, shredded
Spring onions, chopped
Sour cream / yoghurt
Salsa sauce (optional)
Olives, chopped
Avocado, sliced
Method:
Saute onion, garlic and chicken until chicken is cooked. Add pepper and seasonings. Cook until pepper softens. Add beans (and tomato paste if necessary). Heat through and serve with remaining ingredients.
Baked Potatoes and toppings
Place as many potatoes as your family eats on a baking tray in a hot oven. They will take 1 1/4 hr to cook well. Serve with a salad.
Toppings
~ Blend some ripe avo's, lemon juice, salt and pepper together and spoon over open spuds.
~ Fry some garlic, onion and mushrooms. Add some Kikkoman sauce and 125ml cream. Reduce and spoon over open spuds.
~ Steam some chopped spinach. Blend together with feta or ricotta, salt, pepper, pinch of nutmeg and 125ml cream.
~ Olive oil and salt!
~ A knob of butter and grated cheese.
~ Greek Style yoghurt and chopped Spring onions.
Chicken Mango Salad
4 cooked chicken breasts or left over roast chicken deboned.
2 mangoes, cubed
Spring onions chopped
1 packet of spiral noodles, cooked
Mayonnaise
Plain yoghurt
1 teaspoon each of cumin and coriander spice
Salt and pepper
Mix 1/2 a cup of yoghurt and 1/2 cup of mayonnaise with the salt, pepper, coriander and cumin.
Mix the other ingredients together and combine with the sauce.
Serve into individual bowls. Top with fresh cilantro (coriander)
